The Kiss of Cleotildes
We live in a world full of hypocrites, where people secretly wish to see you fail, but to your face they smile as if they love you. If I had to live my life again, I wouldn't change anything, except that I would open my eyes a little wider. Sometimes, my excessive kindness causes me trouble: too good, too naive, too trusting. But I have learned that it is not my responsibility to fix what I didn't break. I used to be afraid of losing people, but now I'm afraid of losing my time. It is so valuable, so fleeting, and yet we waste it on the wrong people and at the wrong times. If I live according to the opinions of others, I will never become the person I am meant to be. Never! Life is too short, so I cherish every day and laugh whenever I can. I cry only when necessary, and I will never, ever, let anyone tear me down. One value I never want to lose is my dignity, because without it, what am I? I have realized that as I grow older, fewer and fewer people will remain in my life.
Masks of the Soul
Soul Masks represents the different versions that a person builds, shows, and hides throughout their life. The same face appears divided into fragments of color, age, and expression, as if each section reveals a distinct identity. The artwork speaks to how we change depending on time, experiences, and the people in front of us. Some parts of us are shown clearly; others remain hidden, deformed, or protected. However, all of them belong to the same individual.
The Distraction of the Road
The work explores the interplay between appearance, desire, and manipulation. At first glance, a woman appears to be surrounded by figures trying to seduce and distract her with various temptations. However, her calmness reveals another possibility: perhaps she was never the victim, but rather the one who drew them toward her. The work thus questions who truly holds control and poses a question: who is seducing whom?
